Mountain Host Director

Whiteface Mountain is seeking a Mountain Host Director for the 2019-2020 skiing/riding season. Ultimately responsible for the leadership and management of the Mountain Host department, the successful candidate will oversee and be responsible for delivering information to guests about the overall mountain experience from the time they arrive at the mountain until they depart. S/he may also assist other departments by monitoring lift lines, slow zones, and staffing safety booths as well as other guest related stations. Typical activities may include, but are not limited to: recruiting, training and managing mountain host staff; greeting, educating, and assisting guests; assisting various departments in fulfilling guests' needs and expectations; advising ski patrol of potential hazards and/or safety concerns; and acting as an ambassador for Whiteface Mountain. All responsibilities will be performed with a focus on guest and employee safety. Additional related duties to be performed as assigned.

Qualifications: Must: be an expert skier; have a minimum of one year of experience in both customer service and employee supervision; have excellent verbal and written communications skills; and have established proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar application. Demonstrated leadership qualities along with a strong knowledge of typical mountain safety concerns are essential for this position as well.

Compensation: Identified as a Labor Supervisor with an entry rate of $19.04/hr. Benefits per CSEA Contract.

Lift attendants 

Assist guests with safe, efficient and courteous loading and unloading of lifts. Attendants are responsible for maintaining ramps as well as scanning season passes and lift tickets.  Knowledge of Whiteface Mountain a plus. 


As a Snowmaker you'll check snowmaking equipment (valves, water lines, etc.) and reposition snow guns on the mountain. Enjoy the bragging rights that YOU play an integral part in why the trails are so awesome at Whiteface. On-site training available.

snowsports instructors

Do you have impressive skills skiing or riding? Love working with people? The Snowsports Team could be for you, where you'll teach both children and adults to ski and snowboard. Knowledge of skiing/riding and ski slopes needed. Instructor Training Course (ITC) available. 

park crew

..."Crew" being the main word here! Spend your winter building and maintaining the terrain park features where all the shredding magic happens. You'll also work with mountain operations. Knowledge of skiing/riding and ski slopes needed.

ticket sales clerks

Have you been told you're a people person? Well that's what we are looking for in our ticket sellers! Sell lift tickets, season passes, frequent skier products and lessons; answer phones, and rock your excellent customer service skills. Position requires knowledge of computers and Whiteface Mountain.


Love the outdoors but looking to work inside? We have that too! Reservationists are responsible for booking group and private snowsports lessons for individuals over the phone or in person with guests. Must be detail-oriented, have a personable phone demeanor and front-line experience.


Responsible for day-to-day Administration Office needs such as answering phones, speaking with guests, processing season passes, and filing paperwork. Experience with Microsoft Office required. 

nursery staff

Spend your day playing with our little mountain bear cubs! Nursery staff assists with childcare from ages 1 - 6 while parents hit the slopes. Skiing/riding not required (but a plus); knowledge of Whiteface Mountain helpful.

Building Maintenance

Assist with keeping our buildings in tip-top shape for our guests. Job duties include: janitorial work, cleaning lodges and snow removal. Full Time or Part Time positions available.

Parking Attendants

Give our guests a warm welcome while assisting them with instructions for parking. Other duties include: keeping parking areas clean and orderly, snow removal and operation of snow removal equipment. Full Time or Part Time positions available.
