Whiteface Mountain, an ORDA managed facility, is seeking a results oriented professional to fulfill its Group Sales needs. Under the supervision of the Whiteface Sales & Marketing Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with group sales, service initiatives, and various marketing projects. The successful candidate will create sales goals and action plans to increase group visits and bulk sales at Whiteface Mountain on a year-round basis and perform other related duties as necessary. The Sales & Marketing Coordinator will represent Whiteface and the Lake Placid venues at trade shows, consumer shows, at college campuses and coordinate the logistics of these off-site events. The successful candidate will manage group sales efforts for multi-venue visits; develop and maintain relationships with tour brokers, ski clubs, colleges, hotel sales managers, other sales reps within the ski industry; and assist with various marketing tasks and duties. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating, managing, and follow-through for weddings, private events, etc.

This position involves travel and the work schedule includes weekends and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in business or marketing or two years of sales and/or marketing experience in sports, recreation, or resort environments. The successful candidate must also have strong computer skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Whiteface Mountain and the Olympic movement are plusses.

Compensation: Management / Confidential position. Entry rate of $38,571/year. Outstanding benefit package including paid leave, health, dental, vision, and participation in the New York State Retirement System. Optional participation in NYS Deferred Compensation.

Administrative Receptionist

Whiteface Mountain, an ORDA managed facility, is in search of a seasonal Administrative Receptionist. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a fast-paced office team at a busy recreational, training, and competition facility. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ticket sales support, front-line guest services and reception management; assisting staff with daily office functions; and providing general clerical support to the administrative office. This position reports directly to the Whiteface Business Manager and will work directly with Whiteface and ORDA administrative staff.

Minimum Qualifications: Strong knowledge of basic business practices is essential. Prior experience with general office functions and demonstrated understanding of confidentiality (supported with references) is required. One (1) year experience in administrative business procedures is preferred. The successful candidate will be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of both Microsoft Excel and Word. Good typing skills and familiarity with the internet are plusses. Must demonstrate a professional appearance and have outstanding organizational, communication and guest service skills. Will train the right candidate.

Compensation: Classified as a Grade 9 Senior Ticket Sales Clerk. Entry rate of $12.79 per hour. Optional participation in the New York State and Local Retirement Systems.

Lift attendants 

A.k.a. "lifties"...you'll assist guests with safe, efficient and courteous loading and unloading of lifts. Attendants are responsible for maintaining ramps as well as scanning season passes and lift tickets.  Knowledge of Whiteface Mountain a plus. 


As a Snowmaker you'll check snowmaking equipment (valves, water lines, etc.) and reposition snow guns on the mountain. Enjoy the bragging rights that YOU play an integral part in why the trails are so awesome at Whiteface. On-site training available.

snowsports instructors

Do you have impressive skills skiing or riding? Love working with people? The Snowsports Team could be for you, where you'll teach both children and adults to ski and snowboard. Knowledge of skiing/riding and ski slopes needed. Instructor Training Course (ITC) available. 

park crew

..."Crew" being the main word here! Spend your winter building and maintaining the terrain park features where all the shredding magic happens. You'll also work with mountain operations. Knowledge of skiing/riding and ski slopes needed.

ticket sellers

Have you been told you're a people person? Well that's what we are looking for in our ticket sellers! Sell lift tickets, season passes, frequent skier products and lessons; answer phones, and rock your excellent customer service skills. Position requires knowledge of computers and Whiteface Mountain.


Love the outdoors but looking to work inside? We have that too! Reservationists are responsible for booking group and private snowsports lessons for individuals over the phone or in person with guests. Must be detail-oriented, have a personable phone demeanor and front-line experience.


Responsible for day-to-day Administration Office needs such as answering phones, speaking with guests, processing season passes, and filing paperwork. Experience with Microsoft Office required. 

nursery staff

Spend your day playing with our little mountain bear cubs! Nursery staff assists with childcare from ages 1 - 6 while parents hit the slopes. Skiing/riding not required (but a plus); knowledge of Whiteface Mountain helpful.

Building Maintenance

Assist with keeping our buildings in tip-top shape for our guests. Job duties include: janitorial work, cleaning lodges and snow removal. Full Time or Part Time positions available.

Parking Attendants

Give our guests a warm welome while assisting them with instructions for parking. Other duties include: keeping parking areas clean and orderly, snow removal and operation of snow removal equipment. Full Time or Part Time positions available.
