Winter Olympic sports aren't just for winter, and they aren't just for watching. Sign up for the Gold Medal Adventure Passport and learn about luge, bobsledding and other winter sports—not by gawking, but by doing. Over the course of three hours, you and your friends and family will climb aboard a wheeled luge, learning the basics of the sport as you steer down a paved course. You'll practice push-starting a four-man bobsled and then ride an elevator to the top of the 120-meter ski jump tower. Don't worry; you're not going to jump. Your assignment for this stage of the adventure is to open your eyes, look down, catch your breath and enjoy the views: the verdant Adirondacks and Olympic landmarks visible in every direction: The cauldron and opening ceremony parade grounds from the 1980 Winter Olympic Games immediately before you; Whiteface Mountain to the north; behind you, the bobsled track at the Olympic Sports Complex. With the Gold Medal Adventure, you are immersed in and infused with the Olympic spirit. Remember to bring your camera; you just might bump into an Olympian. Gold Medal Adventure Passport combines all the amenities of the Olympic Sites Passport plus Interactive Activities.
