Wilmington - Whiteface is located in Wilmington; the main business district is 3 miles from the mountain
If you are looking for first tracks on a powder day, the town of Wilmington is home to Whiteface Mountain and the closest you can get to the slopes. You won’t find condos, noise, or traffic in this quaint town. What you will find is a wonderful selection of family lodges, inns, and motels. Once settled in, you’ll enjoy a variety of great restaurants, pubs and gift shops.
Lake Placid – Located 7 miles from Whiteface
The village of Lake Placid is a real village, not a prefabricated one. Here you will find a bustling Main Street complete with charming boutiques, an appetizing variety of restaurants and pubs, a historical movie theater located in the heart of town, tobogganing and dog sledding on Mirror Lake, and the Olympic Museum. Enjoy the paved walkway around charming Mirror Lake as you explore the village.
