2007 Summer Programs for Groups
Summer is beautiful here at Whiteface! Even without the snow there is still plenty of fun activities for groups. Our Whiteface Mountain Veteran’s Memorial Highway offers unparalleled views of Lake Placid, the High Peaks, Vermont, and even into Canada! The Cloudsplitter Gondola is also open for the summer with a beautiful 15 minute ride up to the summit of Little Whiteface, elevation 3,676 feet.
Whiteface Mountain Veteran’s Memorial Highway
The Highway starts at the four corners in Wilmington and takes you three miles to our historic Tollhouse. From there you will continue for another five miles of the most breathtaking scenery you have ever seen! Along the way there are nine signed interpretive stops as well as picnic tables for a leisurely lunch.
At the top, take a walk through the Castle made of native stone, make sure to look for the chunks of garnet still in the walls, and have a bite to eat in the Castle dining room. From there either walk up the remaining 276 feet to the summit or go through the tunnel to the elevator for a 90 second ride to the top!
Hours of Operation:
- Early Season: May 19 - June 29; open 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
- Mid Season: Jun 30 - September 3; open 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
- Late Season: September 4 - October 10; open 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Rates:
- $5 per Person (Children 6 & Under FREE!)
- For each 20 tickets purchased, you will receive one FREE! (i.e. 21st ticket, 42nd ticket etc.)
- Minimum group size 20 people
Cloudsplitter Gondola
The Cloudsplitter Gondola begins at the base of Whiteface Mountain Ski Center and travels up to the summit of Little Whiteface. It is a 15 minute ride up to the top and 15 minutes back down, guests are free to spend as much time as they would like at the summit looking over Lake Placid from the scenic deck and checking out the views of Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains of Vermont.

- June 22 – September 3; open everyday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
- September 4 - October 14; open Friday – Sunday only, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Open Monday, October 8 (Closed Sun. July 23 for Ironman)
