Single-Session Tickets on Sale Monday for 2017 Skate America

Skate America Returns to Lake Placid, N.Y. Nov 24-26, 2017

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (August 28, 2017) – Single-session tickets for 2017 Skate America will be on sale to the public at 10 a.m. ET Monday, Aug. 28. Skate America, the final stop of six stops on the International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, will take place Nov. 24-26 at the 1980 Rink-Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, New York.

Tickets, starting at $25, will be available at, the Olympic Center box office or by calling 518-523-3330. Fees may apply.

Skate America will feature three days of competition in ladies, men's, pairs and ice dance. The men's and pairs short programs are set for Friday, Nov. 24. The ladies short program and short dance, as well as the pairs and men's free skates will take place Saturday, Nov. 25. On Sunday, Nov. 26, the competition will conclude with the free dance and ladies free skate. The Skate America Smucker's Skating Spectacular, an exhibition of champions, medalists and invited guests, will take place Sunday evening.

The Skate America competitive field includes 60 world-class athletes, many of whom competed at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia and recent World Championship events. Team USA will be headlined by U.S. champions Karen Chen, Nathan Chen, Haven Denney and Brandon Frazier and Maia and Alex Shibutani. The international slate features 2017 World silver medalists Aliona Savchenko in pairs and World bronze medalists Gabrielle Daleman of Canada and Boyang Jin of China in ladies and men's, respectively. Past Skate America titlists include five-time World champion and two-time Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan and Olympic champions Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott Hamilton, Evan Lysacek and Meryl Davis and Charlie White. The event will mark the fifth time the event has been held in Lake Placid.

Other stops on the Grand Prix Series include Skate Canada International, Cup of China, Rostelecom Cup, Internationaux de France and NHK Trophy. Skaters earn points throughout the Grand Prix Series to qualify for the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final each December. The 2017 Grand Prix Final will be held Dec. 7-10, in Nagoya, Japan.
