Olympic Cross Country Biathlon Center

MT Van Hoevenberg

Our world class cross country ski trails range over 50 km of rolling Adirondack terrain.  In the winter step into a pair of skis or snowshoes, breathe in the fresh, crisp air and follow our meticulously groomed trails through the snowy woods at your own pace.  what we have here is the best of Lake Placid Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing and it's yours to explore.

In the summer as the trails green up and the birds sing you can explore the trail systems on a Mountain Bike or on Horseback as part of a guided nature hike.  Our partners from High Peaks Cyclery and Lake Placid Equestrian will provide all the information and guidance you need.

Experience the thrill and challenge of biathlon as part of our Be a Biathlete program.  You'll get a primer on gun safety and then line up against the same targets the world's best biathletes face.  Many days in the summer you can also even see the US team training at the range.

Summer at the Cross Country Center

When the snow melts the trails serve as a perfect backdrop for family friendly Mountain Biking and peaceful Horseback Riding.  Don't forget you can still sharpen your skills at the range with our special summer Be a Biathlete Program.

Biathlon and Nordic Competitions

We host World Cup Biathlon, Nordic Combined and Cross Country competitions at all levels including Junior Olympic events and a number of amateur races, like the famed Lake Placid Loppet, a 50- and 25-km race that's part of the American Ski Marathon Series. We're also a recreational playground, open to anyone who wants to get on the trails and into the woods.
