Team Whiteface Lake Placid

OUR ATHLETES

Whiteface Lake Placid has an honored Olympic history. In addition, to hosting two Winter Olympics the region has sent athletes to every winter games since their inception in 1924, even winning the first Gold medal ever awarded to a Winter Olympian, Charles Jewtraw of Lake Placid in 1924. This year the tradition continues with the athletes of TEAM WHITEFACE LAKE PLACID.  Our Olympians are focused on realizing their dreams, but it takes the support of the community to make an Olympian. Whiteface Lake Placid is committed to the dreams of each generation through its support of local athletes. Seven athletes make up this year's Whiteface Lake Placid team and we are proud to cheer them on as they compete on the world stage and go for gold in Sochi this winter.
