Springfest 2015

Every weekend in March will be filled with fun at Whiteface; exciting activities, informative demonstrations and family friendly tours. Explore Whiteface from the base where you will find one of our amazing Piston Bully Snow Cats on display. Looking for the perfect photo op? Take time for a photo with a Gondola Cabin. On the mountain enjoy some competitive family fun on our timed brush course located on the Fox trail. At the end of the day relax with live music or trivia in the Cloudspin Lounge.


 

February 28 - March 1

Mardi Gras weekend at Whiteface with live music, free tours, and fun for the whole family.

  • Olympic History Tour: Explore Whiteface with staff from the 1980 Olympics right here at your favorite mountain. Canadian Weekend, we are paying homage for all the fun we have with our winter loving northern neighbors. Did you know the Crazy Canucks raced at Whiteface several times including the 1980 Olympics where Steve Podborski of Toronto took bronze. This weekend is about loving winter and all it has to offer.

St. Paddy's weekend, everybody loves Saint Patrick's Day weekend! Cover yourself in head to toe green and work on an accent. On St. Paddy's day everyone is Irish.

Reggae Jam, fell the music fell the spring and get in the mood for warmer days ahead.

  • Apple Butter Open: It's for everyone one of our most fun events of the season, the Apple Butter Open features a mellow moguls course with a small jump at the bottom. We encourage adults and children of all ages to take part in this family friendly event. Special thanks to Forrence Orchards for donating the delicious prizes!

  • Grommet Jam: The little guys can throw some pretty gnarly tricks too! Whiteface has an event just for them. Come throw down and show us what you're made of. This is a coached competition with a one hour coaching session provided before the comp, coaches are also provided for anyone who wants them during the competition. P.S. cookies and Hot Cocoa provided.

Maple Weekend, yumm yumm maple is delicious fun. The Cornell Cooperative will be at Whiteface all weekend with maple sugaring demonstrations along with the Shipman Youth Center they will be providing some delectable maple treats.

  • Whiteface Snoweater: Warm up in the cold with the first Mud (Snow) Run of the season. The Whiteface Snoweater is a winter obstacle race with a sunny attitude. Test your balance, agility and endurance in ways only Whiteface can! Free SWAG bag to the first 50 participant and everyone enjoys a race day Rolling Rock or Coke on us. Tons of swag, prizes and giveaways, winners will be crowned Mr. & Mrs. Whiteface and receive a brand new pair of ski and a crown of course!

  • Maple Weekend: Cornell Cooperative Extension makes a guest appearance at Whiteface to show off all the fun and tasty things you can do with maple! They'll be maple cotton candy, maple snow cones?, maple sugar candy and a sugaring demonstration.

 

April 4-5

Retro Weekend, grab your raddest retro neon jump suit and most stylish headband and head up to the mountain to show everyone how awesome you would have been if this were 1987. Admit it, you've been secretly waiting for this all season. Meet up on the Cloudspin deck at 4:00 pm to see who will be judged raddest of them all!

  • International Pond Skimming Championships: Think you can make it across our sea of slush? Many have tried and almost as many have failed but crossing the pond isn't the only way to win. Contestants will be judged on distance, splash and costume!  View Video
