The Scholastic Sliding Challenge is a program developed by ORDA to increase the awareness of the Olympic sliding sports. It's a fun and interactive educational program that begins with a package delivered to your school with information on a surprise country for your class to adopt for the school year. The package will include a light lesson plan and details on how to communicate with your newly adopted country and will conclude with a special trip to see a Bobsled, Skeleton or Luge event live in Lake Placid where the students will be able to cheer on their adopted country (and show the other schools who has the most school spirit). Each student will leave the event a sliding fan for life. The best part of all is that this program is completely FREE and as simple, or as in depth as each class needs--its up to you! We even have World class athletes available starting this school year to visit with your students and get this program rolling, or sliding we should say.
