Olympic Venues
The Olympic Center, home to the 30th Anniversary Skate America, is a world renowned sports venue located in the heart of the Olympic Village of Lake Placid. It's where "The Miracle on Ice"— U.S. Hockey Team's victory over the Soviet Union happened in 1980 and where figure skater-turned movie star Sonja Henie grabbed her second of three consecutive Olympic gold medals in 1932. These days, the Olympic Center's three rinks provide a haven for hockey players, speed skaters and figure skaters to hone their craft year-round. It's also home to the 1932 and 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympic Museum.
The Olympic venues of New York State are run by the Olympic Regional Development Authority. For more information on all of the Olympic Sites, visit
