30th Anniversary of the 1980 Olympic Winter Games
This February, Lake Placid will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the 1980 Olympic Winter Games. To add to the excitement, the Vancouver Olympic Games will be taking place from February 12th February 28th. Together, as a community, many activities and events are being planned to commemorate and honor these occasions.

Bring your family and be part of the inaugural 3-day
Gold Medal Games Family Edition that kicks off with a Torch Run, Opening Ceremonies and Cauldron Lighting. Compete with other families in Skiing/Snowboarding, Bobsled, Biathlon, Hockey, Curling and Speed Skating.
Celebrate the Miracle Where It All Happened
On Sunday, February 14th starting at 7 p.m, embrace Lake Placid's Olympic history and the story behind the greatest sports moment of the twentieth century in the same arena where the impossible came true. Some say you can still hear the crowd chanting, "USA...USA".
