OMG!!!!!!!  Whiteface Lake Placid Skier Andrew Weibrecht is in 3rd place in today's Men's Super G competition in Whistler.  I am so psyched!!!!  Bronze medal in his first Olympic appearance......todays special guest star is Sandy Caligiore live from Whistler!!!!  Also Michael Hart from teh Electrical Shop is super pumped tooo.....he also adds some thoughts!!!

 I know this is a little early, but I am freaking out with excitement!!!!!!

Today began a bit windy....Mother Nature called and told us she was sorry for that.  But once we opened it was a fabulous day.  Hoever, to be fair I did fail to mention in my podcast that while I had very positive experiences on the mountain today, particularly on The Wilmington Trail, Summit Express was true to form and was definitely an express trail.  It is short 100 feet, but wow it as a little fast and furious today, take care on that trail on windy days 4 sure.

I broke my podcast generator, and I lost my voice in NYC Central Park Winter Jam for a brief moment......my sincerest apologies and I miss you all!  Now to business!  #1 advice I can give you:  Ticket windows open at 7:30am there are no lines no waiting until about 8:45 or 9-ish...then it gets really quite busy.  So avoid lines, get here early, then grab a fantastic breakfast in the Base Camp Cafe or Snowmonsters Cafe.  You will thank me for it!!!!  If you don't want to wake up early, get your lift tickets at the ORDA Store located on Main Street in Lak ePlacid the night before you are going to ski. 

Now today I talk about how much I have OLYMPIC FEVER!!!!!!! Our very dear friend Mark Grimmette will be carrying in the US flag in tonight's Opening Ceremonies.  We are so proud of him!!!  Mark and his doubles luge partner Brian Martin ski here every spring after their World Cup season has concluded.  They are both terrific and they live in Lake Placid, have won two Olympic medals and also we go surfing on the lake in the summer!  BARVO!!!!  Cheer loud!!!!!

Skiing and riding is terrific, I have been putting in some serious days on teh hill and am just loving it!!!!!

Today was chilly in the am then warmed up to the teens...HEAT WAVE!!!!  yahoo!!  Today we chat with my cousin Zach who hails from Rochacha, NY  and my cousin Anne Marie hailing from Ithaca.  They had a blast!!!!  Zach just learned to ski last year and is doing quite well and Anne is having a great time picking up a new sport of snowboarding.  Really hanging with family and friends at the mountain is one of the very best parts of this sport.  Additionally I have a super awesome family!

Please note:  Wolf is designated as a black diamond as it will become a skier cross in its future.... and we did not have our headlamps for cross country ski excursion last night, mine were misplaced in Costa Rica and my cousin Anne's ran out of batteries.  Oh yes, super prepared, however I do have to say I am psyched we did the cross country skiing last night considering it was in the negatives.  It was such a great time!!!  Remember next year to attend the Fire and Spice event which supports the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. 

 Finally snowmaking is happening all over the mountain Mountain Run, Upper Parkway, Boreen, Easy Street, Round A bout, conditions are superb.   

Today began with a gorgeous inversion, then we had about a 1 hour issue with lifts, followed by a stunning remainder of the day.   I also give props to our lift maintenance department and our electricians for their baywatch efforts to get our lifts back online in a timely fashion.  We are fortunate at Whiteface to have a stellar team of people that put forth a tremendous effort to make sure we have a fun and safe time out on the trails. I also would like to thank our skiers and riders for your patience and for sticking with it today, you rock!

Please note:  i normally am off on Monday and Tuesday, I was supposed to head to NYC for some R&R however, I am too excited to ski tomorrow the conditions are just too good.  Therefore I will be doing a podcast tomorrow and will be on the hill.  I will report to you tomorrow night.

Today we discuss our day, packed powder conditions, what was up with the gondola, and Super Sunday rocking in the Cloudpin Lounge with Lucid.  I also completely overuse the word awesome, the most ever i am sure as I tell you about my favorite sport of all time World Cup Freestyle Aerials.  I take a walk down memory lane and it was nice.  Seriously though, don't miss Freestyle WC Jan 21-24 this is by far my favorite weekend of the entire winter! 

 We also issue out huge props to our local Olympians....they rocked this weekend with amazing results.

Today is long, remember I am off on Mondays and Tuesdays to recharge my batteries.  I am heading to hang with my sista mountain Gore tomorrow so I will let you know how that goes.
